What We Do

Health Care Training Initiative

The MNADV provides cost-free domestic violence training for health care providers in Maryland. Since 2010, over 500 health care professionals have been trained at over 20 hospitals, health departments, and facilities statewide.

The training will give health care providers the knowledge and expertise to improve their standard of care for victims through the use of effective strategies and guidelines for detection, screening, documentation, and referrals. The training can be customized to meet the needs of your specific hospital, clinic, or health care facility in terms of length and topics. Trainers have presented at Grand Rounds, lunch and learn sessions, and staff meetings.

These trainings are provided in collaboration with the Maryland Health Care Coalition Against Domestic Violence, which is a network of professionals who work to provide leadership within health care in promoting an effective response to domestic violence.

We would like to thank The Verizon Foundation for making this health care training initiative possible.
